You Sure You Want Cash Now?
There are many reasons to cash in all or some future payments for cash now. And there are times when the best decision is to not get cash now from a Lottery, Jackpot, Structured Settlement or Annuity.
Why wait?
Because all is perfect now and the payments are working just fine. There is nothing needed or wanted. There is no personal debt, dream, or event that needs to be paid for right now. Life is perfect and no changes are needed. Since the day of the first payment all dreams and desires have been fulfilled. There is not one single thing that having a lump sum of cash from a Lottery Prize, Jackpot, and Structured Settlement would improve.
Believe it or not over the past 14 years I have come across a few Lottery/Jackpot Winners, and Structured Settlement holders that do not want more cash than they are receiving in their structured schedule of payments. They have been able to get by on their annual, monthly or weekly payments and have no need for a pile of cash today.
But as you can guess, the vast majority of people waiting for future payments have a need, want or desire to improve their lives by:
- Paying off nagging debt
- Start a business
- Go back to school
- Buy a new home
Personally, I would want every dollar coming to me right away so I could put it to work for me, for my dreams, my future, my family.
Maybe it is as simple as the old saying “a bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush.”
