PPI Library Grand Opening Party
Today we had a Grand Opening party for our new Prosperity Partners Library. It had taken about 6 months from the forming of the library committee to fill the shelves with books and dvd’s. The committee was made up of PPI staff who volunteered extra time to gather materials for and set up the library.

The library committee initially met and outlined a plan for their vision to promote and support business and personal growth for all Prosperity Partner employees. Then they set out to collect media donations. Materials came in from numerous sources including book stores, private collections, new purchases, and community donations.
While preparing for the grand opening party, a suggestion was made to add a movie lending section to the library and quickly movies were added to the growing selection. The library committee is encouraging employees to use the library during lunch. They can eat on tv trays, sit in a comfy chair and enjoy the quiet spot with a book or book on cd.
At the Grand Opening, employees met in the library for a short presentation. Featured were all the current items available, the book and media of the month and the library check out rules. Attendees were buzzing with questions and suggestions for enhancing and expanding the library. The free food certainly contributed to the mood.
The future plans for the library include a comfortable couch to lounge on and a fish tank. A few volunteers offered to video our classes and training meetings to add to the training section of the library.
Thanks to the committee staff and volunteers who made the library possible with their time and resources. The library should be a valuable resource for employees with resources covering a variety of topics from personal finance to customer service, investing, real estate, and much more.
