Post Nascar

Prosperity Partners took a number of customers, friends, and coworkers to the Nascar Championships in Homestead Miami. There was no intention to do business, just to have a good time and get to know each other. It was a complete success as both sides were willing to forgo business talk and just enjoy themselves. Congratulations to Andrea for coordinating the event.

As the Lottery Turns

Today’s lottery soap opera news.

North Carolina names a director! Good for them. It’s pretty clear that there is a group of people desperate for lottery revenue. You know how slow the government is and this has been a very quick process. The haste may have been a pr response to the questionable activities of the previous director, who’s very brief directorship went down in a blaze of rumors and accusations. Taking some $24,000 from the company winning the bid to supply the lottery machines.

The new potentatate is Shaheen. With some excellent credentials, he has alreay made an impact. I like his incentive structure. He makes some $235,000 year, and he gets a $50k bonus if he gets the lottery running in 4 months from his hire date. Do you think money is a major motivator?

Daily Dose 11/18/05

A lot of life in the building today. Everyone is buzzing in anticipation for this weekends Homestead Race. We’ve put in a lot of work the past 4 months and now we finally get to have some fun! We are taking 14 guests to the Nascar championship weekend. We have tent passes along with our great seats. While is is a business sponsored event, we are really viewing it as more of a reward for the hard work of the past few months. No business will be conducted this weekend. That’s what Mondays are for.

So we’ll be drinking, eating and all that being a Nascar fan entails. We are looking forward to meeting our structured settlement and lottery guests. I’m sure they have some anxiety that this is a sneak attack and we will corner them and talk incessantly about money. I think they will be pleasantly surprised when they realize we are just their to have fun. Saturday is the Busch Championship and Sunday is the Nextel Cup championship. Transportation and lodging is all set. We expect a very smooth and enjoyable weekend.
