Bingo, Blondes and Bratwurst

Bingo

These three words have almost no relationship to each other; bingo, blondes, and bratwurst.

Exceptions:

A blonde woman playing bingo eating a bratwurst

A blonde man feeding his dog Bingo some bratwurst.

A blonde chef named Bingo cooking bratwurst

So why am I blogging (and you reading) about blondes, bingo, and bratwurst?

Say them out loud, go ahead, right now, say them quietly if you don’t want people to think you are weird. Say them loud and proud if you want the pure alliteration joy of saying bingo, blondes, and bratwurst.  It just feels good.  It sounds cool, and no one else is doing it.

You my friend are a trailblazer, a rebel, and you should celebrate!  Look around.  Is anyone else saying bingo, bratwurst, or blondes in the SAME SENTENCE?  Nope.

And here is another way you can stand out from the crowd.  Own your debt.  That’s right, I said it, own your debt.  Being in debt is no fun, and being in debt and ignoring it can be a downright drag.  You act like it doesn’t bother you but inside you are gloomy and food does not taste the same.  It is the old saying, what we resist, persists.  Suddenly this post is dreary huh?  It isn’t the writing, it is the “d” word.  Not as much fun as the “b” words.

Sometimes there are cloudy days, and debt that is out of control is like a winter of grey skies.  If you want a better forecast, it is time to get real with your debt disease.  Here’s what you can do right now:

Write down everything you owe in a month

Write down everything you make in a month

Now which is the bigger number?  If you owe more, it is time to make some serious moves. You need to cut spending, add income, or both. (I’ll talk about how to do both of these in my next post).  If you make more than you owe in a month, you need to allocate more money to pay down your credit card debt.  You will reduce your spending cash sure, but it will mean more money in your pocket in the long run.

Here’s the bottom line.  Enjoy your life and get real with yourself about your debt.  Put a plan in place, even a modest one, to address your debt.  The less it weighs on you, the lighter you will feel.  Go ahead and get started today.  Read this article for some ideas.

Now let’s put the “b” and “d” together. BEAT DEBT. There, I said it. Now you say it.
